The 3-Day programme saw focused deliberations and exchange of ideas/vision/opinions by the expert participants from various State Electricity Regulatory Commissions of India and their Australian counterparts on numerous facets of emerging regulatory issues in the power sector of both countries.

The Centre organized its Second Regulatory Research Camp (RRC 2) as a five-day workshop from 26-30 June, 2019 at Hotel Fortune Park, McLeod Ganj (Dharamshala), Himachal Pradesh on the topic “Regulatory Framework for Distribution ARR and Tariff Determination.”

The Centre organized a two-day symposium on “Regulatory Framework for the Emerging Power Sector: European and Indian Perspectives” on May 18-19, 2019 at the Department of MS, IIT Kanpur.

1^st Global Regulatory Perspectives Programme for Commissioners of Electricity Regulatory Commissions from March 13-15, 2019 at Melbourne, Australia. The 3-Day programme saw focused deliberations and exchange of ideas/vision/opinions by the expert participants from various State Electricity Regulatory Commissions of India and their Australian counterparts on numerous facets of emerging regulatory issues in the power sector of both countries.

12^th Capacity Building Programme for Officers of Electricity Regulatory Commissions on Tariff Setting in the Power Sector – Best Practices and Emerging Regulatory Scenario from February 11-13, 2019 at IIT Kanpur. The 3-Day programme saw focused deliberations by key experts from industry, academia, and utilities on various facets of tariff setting in the generation, transmission and distribution segments of the power sector.

An international perspective to the Centre’s activities is brought forth by the first ICB program, from October 14-20, 2018, “Learning from Regulatory Experiences and Market Development in Europe”. The main objective of ICB was to provide the participants a first-hand opportunity to interact with leading international experts particularly those having significant experience in the regulatory domain

Alongside the inaugural ceremony, the Centre organized a two-day symposium on “Future of Utilities: International and Indian Perspectives” in collaboration with the Florence School of Regulation (FSR), Italy on October 10-11, 2018 at the Department of MS, IIT Kanpur.

The inaugural ceremony of the Centre was organized on October 10, 2018, at the Department of MS, IIT Kanpur together with the inauguration of another initiative - Energy Analytics Lab (EAL). The dignitaries, experts, and media appreciated the efforts of IIT Kanpur and the support of the Government of United Kingdom towards such a unique institutional initiative.

The Centre organized its first Regulatory Research Camp (RRC 1) as a five-day workshop from 10-14 July, 2018 at Timber Trail Heights, Parwanoo, Himachal Pradesh on the topic “Regulatory Framework for Long-term Demand Forecasting and Power Procurement Planning.”

Launch ceremony of the country’s first Centre dedicated to regulatory research was held at Hotel Le Meridien in New Delhi on May 17, 2018. Shri P. K. Pujari, Chairperson, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) unveiled the logo and web portal of the Centre at the ceremony.
