The Program on Power Sector Regulation: Theory & Practice, would help to understand and analyze the key issues in the power sector from economic, legal and regulatory perspectives. The program builds upon economic rationale for regulatory and policy changes in the power sector, and engage in informed discussions on the regulatory framework, particularly those governing determination of tariff. The program would be conducted under the aegis of Centre for Continuing Education, IIT Kanpur.

Understanding the legal and commercial aspects of tariff and its determination for Generation, Transmission and Distribution.
Developing the ability to understand the emerging policy and regulatory issues in the power sector.
The program will be delivered in hybrid mode in the form of live and recorded sessions to offer flexibility to the working professionals. The recorded sessions would be hosted at CER’s Online Learning Environment and Tools (OLET) platform. The program will be covered across 2 weeks and include multiple sessions of about 1 hour 30 min each (with total program duration of about 25 hours). However, the program calendar/duration will be flexible to accommodate availability of the speakers and other constraints.
CER’s Online Discussion Forum (ODF) will enable discussion among participants on the topics covered under the ongoing programs. The participants may share their knowledge and opinion on a specific topic, exchange their views and ask for clarification through the ODF at https://cer.iitk.ac.in/odf .
Commissioners and Officers from Electricity Regulatory Commissions; Stakeholders from Generating Companies, Licensees (Transmission, Distribution and Trading), Financial Institutions, Consultants, Investors, Consumer Organisations and NGOs; Faculty, Researchers and Students from Academic Institutions; and other stake holders who want to enhance their understanding of this multi-disciplinary area.

Schedule for the program would be generally organised between 5:00pm - 06:45pm (Mon, Tue., Wed., Thu., Fri) and 03:30pm - 05:00pm (Sat., Sun.). Pre-recorded session will be released in advance.
